Rise & Shine Nutrition

Do you ever notice that around 2-4 PM your energy suddenly drops?

Brain fog.
Cravings for something sweet.
Another cup of coffee that doesn’t really fix it.

For many people, this isn’t about being busy, it’s about blood sugar stability.

When meals don’t contain enough protein, fiber, and healthy fats, blood sugar can quickly rise and drop just as fast, leaving you feeling drained later.

The good news? A few small shifts can completely change how you feel throughout the day.

Here are three of my favorite strategies:

1. Prioritize protein at breakfast

Aim for 20g+ protein. Eggs, Greek yogurt, smoothies, cottage cheese, or smoked salmon can boost your energy.

2. Don't eat carbs alone

Pair carbohydrates with protein or healthy fat to slow glucose absorption and spikes then prevent crashes.

3. Move after meals

Even a 10-minute walk after lunch can help your muscles use glucose for energy and keep blood sugar steady.

When blood sugar stays stable, most people notice:

• steadier energy
• fewer cravings
• better mood
• improved focus

Small habits create powerful changes.

If you’ve been struggling with energy crashes, brain fog, or afternoon cravings, this is exactly the kind of thing I help clients solve.
